We have a fantastic opportunity to work in our high performing Communications, Marketing and Engagement team. As a Communications Officer (Digital), you will be responsible for producing high-quality content across the council’s digital channels to engage with our community.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital communications with excellent knowledge of different digital platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for driving engagement and have the design skills to create scroll-stopping assets and video content.

You will have exceptional communication skills and an eye for detail, with the ability to write press releases and copy for our borough magazine, weekly staff newsletter and community website, One Welwyn Hatfield.

Developing excellent working relationships with colleagues and teams from across the council will be key to ensure their key messages are being communicated effectively to residents and to raise the council’s profile.

From developing social media campaigns to writing press releases, no day will be the same and the post holder will be required to be flexible and think creatively to bring a fresh approach to our communications.

We are looking for a candidate who can be flexible, manage conflicting priorities and work well under pressure when needed. In return, you will be supported to develop and thrive in this role, whilst taking opportunity of the many benefits we have to offer.

For an informal conversation, please contact Rosy Vega, Senior Communications Officer on 01707 357568 or Michael Sherry, Service Manager (Communications, Marketing and Engagement) on 01707 357216.

Closing date for applications is 11th August 2024.

Remote assessments will be held on 16th August 2024.

Interviews will be held on 21st/22nd August 2024.
